Celebrating Independence Day 2016 at Paseo de Magallanes

The Philippines has always been known as a patriotic country. Celebrating the day of Philippine Independence is being commemorated every year on June 12 since the year 1962 after declaring the country’s freedom from the Spanish occupation. Also, in connection with Independence Day, Flag Day is also observed from May 28 to June 12 as decreed by former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos as E.O. No. 179, which states that agencies, establishments, schools, and private homes to display the Philippine flag throughout the said period.

At Paseo de Magallanes, Independence Day is also being celebrated every year with a different display each year where the management team showcases their creativity and resourcefulness in creating such displays. This 2016, PET Bottles filled with water and paint mixture were used to fabricate the display. Over 10,000 PET bottles were recycled in order to come up with such eye-catching masterpiece, which is proudly done in-house by the Paseo de Magallanes staff and personnel.
